Edmund Monk, CEO and Founder of the Learning and Performance Institute, joins Abodoo.

Today is a landmark day for Abodoo™. We are honoured to announce that Edmund Monk, CEO and Founder of the Learning and Performance Institute (LPI), the global professional body for workplace learning, is joining forces with Abodoo to accelerate the future of skills intelligence and AI capability in L&D.

Edmund is one of the most influential figures in the global learning industry. Under his leadership, the LPI has set the standard for L&D capability, benchmarking the profession through the LPI Capability Map, accrediting the world's leading learning providers, and convening the global community of CLOs and learning leaders shaping the workforce of tomorrow.

His decision to align more closely with Abodoo signals something important: the future of learning is skills intelligent, AI powered and evidence led, and the time to build it is now.

A partnership built on evidence

The relationship between Abodoo and the LPI is already producing some of the most quoted research in workplace learning today. Together we have published:

  • AI in Learning & Development: Priorities, Pressures and Progress, a global study of 692 learning leaders.
  • The L&D Capability Gap in the Age of AI, drawing on LPI Capability Map data from 3,575 L&D professionals across 1,874 organisations, identifying AI Literacy as the lowest scoring domain in the LPI framework (1.54 / 4).

These findings have already reshaped the conversation about what "AI ready L&D" actually looks like, and what it will take to close the gap.

What this means next

With Edmund's deeper engagement, Abodoo and the LPI will expand work across three priority areas:

  • Capability benchmarking at scale, combining the LPI Capability Map with Abodoo's SIIO Skill Intelligence Infrastructure™ and 55,000+ skills ontology to give organisations a real time, evidence based view of L&D and workforce capability.
  • AI in L&D research, continuing the global research programme into how learning teams are adopting AI, where the gaps are widening, and what good looks like.
  • Skills first transformation, supporting CLOs and CHROs to translate insight into action through SkillSuite, Skills Agent and the S.K.I.L.L.S 1st System™.

From the CEO

"Edmund has spent his career raising the bar for the global learning profession," said Vanessa Wainwright, CEO & Founder of Abodoo. "His commitment to evidence, capability and community is exactly why the LPI is the trusted authority it is today. To deepen our partnership and walk into the AI era together is enormously exciting, for Abodoo, for the LPI and for every learning leader navigating this moment of change."

A moment for the profession

AI is not a future problem. It is already redefining the role of L&D, the value of capability and the speed at which workforces must adapt. Edmund's leadership, combined with Abodoo's skills intelligence platform, gives organisations a clearer path forward, grounded in evidence, powered by AI and built around people.

Welcome, Edmund. The next chapter of workplace learning starts now.
